CreativeBloq, a website focussed on creative art and digital design from the biggest publishing house in the UK (Future Publishing) has recently published a review of the Philips 27B1U5601. The monitor received 3.5/5 stars and 7.5/10 points.
PROS
+ Great general business monitor
+ Good webcam
+ IPS QHD screen is sharp
(+) Good adjustment options including 90° portrait orientation
(+) PowerSensor
(+) Microphone for the webcam performs excellently, picking up speech clearly
(+) Speakers are better than many recent native monitor speakers
CONS
– Can get wider colour range on dedicated creative monitors
(-) Bulky base of the stand
(-) Auto-brightness adjustment can be distracting at times
Verdict: „The Philips 27B1U5601 is part of Philips’ well-established 5000 line of business monitors, and acquits itself well as a general workhorse with very decent brightness, an integrated webcam and responsiveness that’s more than plenty for any everyday office work. The Quad HD 2560×1440 resolution, along with the IPS technology, also makes it a viable option for creatives and casual gamers, although the response time won’t make it your go-to esports monitor and the colour gamut won’t make it a professional’s first option.
Philips has made a monitor that looks good among other office monitors and has a screen sharp and responsive enough for general office work and casual gaming and creative work. It’s got plenty of ports and connectivity options, including USB-C, which is convenient both for home office setups and office hot-desking, and the plentiful ports and easy-to-navigate screen controls are better positioned here than on many competing (and indeed many other Philips) monitors.
And if that’s what you need, you should definitely shortlist this monitor for your purchase research. It’s not super-cheap, but it’s too good to be a budget monitor anyway. If you look out for good offers on it, it can be a very astute purchase, and with a brand known for durability, a few extra quid upfront should be recouped through better longevity. “

+ Futuristic design
+ Comfortable
+ Easy to use
+ Good sound volume
+ Ambient coverage by ear cups
(+) Good acoustic localisation
(+) Dynamic sound image
(+) No interference noises
CONS

Verdict: “The Philips TAG5106 is a solid gaming headset that offers a quality build with a futuristic design. The wearing comfort is paired with simple and convenient operation. The ear cups provide good ambient coverage at the same time. Even though the mid-tones dominate, the sound image leads to an immersive gaming experience. The manufacturer creates sufficient online communication with the detachable microphone. Particularly pleasing is the pairing system, which allows quick operation with two devices by only one controller (USB dongle & Bluetooth). The Philips TAG5106 performs well in the price segment of about 100 Euros. We award our recommendation here.”
