Philips 499P9H among “Best Office Monitors for WFH” list @ WIRED UK

WIRED UK, a well-known print and online magazine illuminating the influence of technology on areas such as business, science and design from the Condé Nast Britain publishing house, recently published an article on its website titled “The Best Office Monitors For (Still) Working From Home” and included the Philips 499P9H among their selection of eight monitors.

The magazine praised the Philips 499P9H: “The best monitor for multi-tasking and widescreen use is the Philips 499P9H (£847). It’s a vast 49in unit that is perfect for wider applications and versatile multi-tasking, and its huge 32:9 design is bolstered by a broad range of features.”

Philips 499P9H – The best super-wide display for multi-tasking

PROS

+ Incredible size and resolution

+ Loads of work-friendly features

+ Good core image quality

CONS

– Can’t go beyond sRGB

– Mediocre uniformity

Verdict: „The curved Philips 499P9H (£847) is one of the biggest displays that it’s possible to buy. Its 49in diagonal means that it’ll dominate any desk, it has an ultra-wide 32:9 aspect ratio, and it has a mighty 5,120 x 1,440 resolution. It’s the equivalent of having two 2,560 x 1,440 displays side-by-side, and the Philips is an ideal replacement for multi-monitor setups […] This screen isn’t the best option for pro-grade photo-editing, but it’s not really designed for that. Instead, it’s a fantastic display for multi-tasking and for everyday versatility. If you’ve got the budget and the desk space, it’s brilliant.“
