Sound quality meets comfort in first Philips lightweight gaming headsets
Amsterdam, August 3rd, 2021 – Headsets are a peripheral that can truly make a difference, although some may underestimate their role: comfortable and clear sound can enhance work and entertainment alike, particularly during VCs and long gaming sessions. Today, gaming has become so complex and immersive that the gaming set-up can be a competitive advantage. Filtering sound directly into your ears and providing a microphone for in-game communication means clear benefits in battle royal, action RPG and MMORPG games.
A continued focus on meeting consumers’ needs, combined with extensive technical expertise, has led to the launch of the first series of gaming headsets in the Philips Gaming portfolio. The lightweight over-ear design, adjustable headband and soft cushions ensure an optimal fit and long wearing comfort in two different models: Philips TAGH301BL and Philips TAGH401BL.
“We’re happy to announce our first gaming peripherals,” comments César Acosta, Product Manager of MMD for the EU Region. “We truly believe that there’s a gamer in most of us and we want to provide each of our customers with headsets that can boost any gaming session just like our monitors already do, with quality and comfort.”
Philips TAGH301BL: Exciting sound and comfort in a lightweight package
The Philips TAGH301BL is an essential wired headset, characterized by a unique headband construction that provides a personalized and comfortable fit. In addition to height adjustment, it offers longer wearing comfort thanks to its soft inner cushions and its cool-feeling PU ear cups. And with a weight of just 211 grams, it’s delightfully light!
For easy and comfortable use, the headset features a 1.8-meter cable with a universal 3.5 mm connector. And the easily accessible multi-function remote controller (with mute switch) and clear microphone meet the demands of gamers and professionals alike, offering them productive and comfortable online chatting.
The 40 mm neodymium speaker driver delivers audio without audible distortion, while assuring clear sound and rich, bold bass. The closed-back design delivers great sound isolation to enjoy every detail; sound isolation is a must-have if you’re gaming in a noisy environment in order to fully concentrate on what you’re doing despite distractions.
Philips TAGH401BL: Immersive 3D sound meets comfort and functionality
The Philips TAGH401BL headset is a step up for gamers. The professional and well-respected Dirac HD/3D sound technology provides a dramatic sound quality upgrade with accurate spatial positioning for a natural and transparent audio experience. This feature is available for Windows PC users, that can manage the 3D and HD technology directly from the inline controls after installation. These precision-balanced speakers can help in multiple games, to ensure you’ll never be taken by surprise by an opponent.
“Dirac solutions breathe a new layer of life and detail into the gaming experience; sounds that were previously lost are now present and accurately placed around the gamer as if real-life,” stated Lars Isaksson, Dirac VP of Headphone & Streaming Audio. “By collaborating on developing the Philips gaming headsets, we’re delivering their customers the realism and immersion that makes the difference between an ordinary and extraordinary gaming experience. We look forward to continuing our collaboration with MMD to push the boundaries of gaming audio.”
Weighing just 250 grams, it features an adjustable headband for an optimal fit and long wearing comfort thanks to its height adjustment, soft cushions and cool-feeling PU memory foam ear cups. The design features a breathing white light on each side and allows for multi-way compact folding as well.
The 2.5-meter cable ends with a USB 2.0 plug for intuitive connectivity and high-speed data transfer, and features an inline remote controller to adjust speaker volume and mute microphone. Through the inline control you can easily adjust the surround sound between Stereo, 3D and HD. No more fumbling to mute or un-mute during games; you’ll always be ready to communicate with your teammates. No more sudden loud cutscenes either, as you can promptly adjust the volume.
