Evnia x Team Vitality
New gaming technology is more powerful, immersive, and sensory than ever. Today’s gamers need a brand that connects with this technology while embracing and celebrating the diversity of player tastes and individuality.
Thankfully, MMD, the leading display specialists and brand license partner for Philips monitors, has answered these players’ calls with Philips’ new line of displays, named Evnia.
Evnia — from the Greek Εύνοια — is formed from the root components “eu” (meaning ‘good’) and “nous” (meaning ‘mind’). The word Evnia is used in the context of protection and luck.
Gaming is about all players enjoying carefree entertainment and fun — not the exclusionary worshipping of high-end tech specs by an elite few. Evnia is dedicated to delivering the joy of gaming to everyone, enabling the world’s gamers to be who and how they really are.
Evnia Partners with Team Vitality
In April 2022, Philips announced it was extending its previous partnership with international esports group Team Vitality.
As a global esports organization, Team Vitality has dedicated itself to gaming excellence and the evolution of a new generation of esports athletes.
Currently home of the world’s best players across seven game titles, Team Vitality is looking to dominate European competitors and become a contender at the world’s most prestigious gaming tournaments.
Now a recognized lifestyle and entertainment brand, Team Vitality and its players have more than nine million followers on social media and are supported by industry-leading partners, including Tezos and adidas.
Headquartered in its state-of-the-art V.Hive public esports complex in Paris, Team Vitality trains its players in Berlin and at V.Performance, a cutting-edge facility at the iconic Stade de France. But Team Vitality continues to set its sights beyond France and Germany, and it now claims athletes and coaching staff of multiple different nationalities.
Evnia-Team Vitality Partnership Details
Previously, Philips sponsored Team Vitality’s FIFA group. But in April, Philips extended this sponsorship to Team Vitality’s League of Legends team, which competes in both the League of Legends European Championship (LEC) and the Ligue Française League Of Legends (LFL).
As part of this partnership, Philips is equipping Team Vitality’s world-class esports athletes, including eight-time LEC winner and 2019 World Championship finalist Luka “Perkz” Perković, back-to-back 2021 LEC winner Matyáš “Carzzy” Orság, and FIFA World Champion 2017 Corentin “RocKy” Chevrey, with top-of-the-line Evnia monitors.
Luka and Corentin will also receive logo placement on jerseys for both League of Legends and FIFA teams when they compete at the largest European esports tournaments. Evnia will supply monitors across Team Vitality’s training facilities in both Berlin and the Stade de France.
In return, Philips will receive Team Vitality athletes’ expertise for the research and development stages of future Evnia gaming displays.
A Day in the Life of a Pro Player
In the past several years, the lives of Team Vitality’s players have changed a lot.
Previously, they would play esports games at home, but now they’re in special organized environments, not just engaging in gaming practice but also undergoing physical supervision and health monitoring. There’s an intense focus on what they eat and how they treat their bodies.
If you’ve ever wondered about what a typical day in the life of a pro player is like, here’s a short clip of two Team Vitality pros — Top Laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and Support Player Labros “Labrov” Papoutsakis — discussing how their time is spent:
As you can see, game play is a central part of the story, but not the only part; maintaining good health, team cohesion, and high spirits are crucial as well.
Just as important are the displays the games are played on, and Evnia monitors have the technology and performance to allow Team members to function in peak condition.
For Team Vitality, Evnia monitors don’t just deliver the latest tech; they permit the world’s best players to compete at the top of their game.
